Yellow Pines, Uintas
We took our first camping trip ever as a family and we chose the uinta's. Our camp site was next to a creek and the weather was perfect....Until midnight. The high for the day was 73 degrees and by midnight it was 35 degrees, "we were not prepared for that 40 degree drop" after a night of shivering and crowding together we got everyone up and in the van at 6:00am with the heater on a movie, by 9:30am it was back to a respectable 60 degrees. I learned that my girls don't like to get their feet wet, dirty or cold, they want all the blankets and pillows and while they do like camping they don't want any personal discomforts at all. Hawke had the best time he could wander around throw rock without damaging anything and chase ground squirrels he would fall and dust himself off and keep going without the customary screaming and crying for 20 minutes....... I'm thinking of a boys only trip.
