Bear Lake

Bear Lake is a natural freshwater lake on the Utah-Idaho border in the Western United States. It is the second largest natural freshwater lake in Utah and has been called the "Caribbean of the Rockies" for its unique turquoise-blue color, which is due to the reflection of "limestone deposits suspended in the lake.

Launching at the Marina
Hawke took us out of the No-wake zoan
 Beautiful day
Both kids are learning to drive the boat

 I do love you
 Card game
Poker - 5 card draw deuces wild

 No Pushing !

 Kenya loved driving the boat
Amazingly cold  crystal blue water and the outside temp was about 75 degrees

The first known inhabitants of the Bear Lake Valley were Shoshone tribes, but the area was known to many Native Americans. The first record of whites seeing the lake is from 1818 when French-Canadian trappers working for the North West Company followed the Bear River upstream to the valley.

 Our Beach
The sand was soft and the water was warmer on the beach

 Hard to describe

Bear Lake is over 250,000 years old. It was formed by fault subsidence that continues today, slowly deepening the lake along the eastern side.

 Great Day on the water

 Jumping  Pillow

I kept the boat next to the cabin
 happy, happy, happy

The KOA in Bear Lake put on several programs for kids and I would Highly recommend staying there

Kenya found a fawn while on a hike with me
We were able to stand directly over him
 Kenya was very excited
We left him untouched and undisturbed
 Flash never knew a thing
Later mommie came and picked him up
It is very green here and the place seems almost untouched    Bear Lake , Ut
Our view of the lake while we were on our hike

Kenya made friends with a girl named Bella

Hawke loved the games and scavenger hunts

Flash may have met his match
I caught this wasp in flight, I LOVE MY CAMERA!
